1st RACE (9) THE SNOW FOREST HANDICAP (About) 1100 Metres – A Handicap for Horses Rated 00-30 - To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (1210/12.10) : 6 runners

SHINING EXAMPLE (V Jaiswal) was slow to begin, lost approximately 4 lengths.
Jockey Brij Shaw, the rider of PENNY, reported that he lost his right stirrup iron soon after jumping out of the starting gates which he was able to recover approaching the 800 metres.

App Pradeep Kumar, the rider of HOWLING WOLF, reported that his mount was inclined to “run out” throughout the race and that despite his best efforts to keep it on an even course, the horse finished the final 400 metres of the race on the outer portion of the race track. Tr. Sarfaraz Khan has been advised to take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with his charge again.

The Sr. Veterinary Officer reported that ch m LIGHT OF LAW (App I Khan) returned lame on left hind. Tr. H S Bath was informed not to accept with his charge till certified fit by the Sr. Veterinary Officer.

2nd RACE (10) THE CALLISTO HANDICAP (About) 1200 Metres - A Handicap for Horses Rated 00-30 - To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (12.40/12.40) : 7 runners

The girth of GOING STARRY (Afzal Khan) was replaced at the start.

MOONLIGHT TANGO (N Akhtar) jumped awkwardly from the starting gates.

STARLIT SANDS (B Gurang) planted in the starting gates, losing many lengths taking no practical part in the race. In view of its behaviour, Tr. E Bhungard was informed not to accept with the filly till shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.

The Sr. Veterinary Officer reported that MOONLIGHT TANGO (N Akhtar) returned with respiratory distress after the race. Tr. E Bhungard was informed not to accept with his charge till certified fit by the Sr. Veterinary Officer.

3rd RACE (11) THE ANNATTO HANDICAP (Div I) (About) 1200 Metres – A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-50, Rated 00-30 eligible - To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (1.10/1.14) : 9 runners

MYSTRO (Afzal Khan) was slow to begin.

ALARICO (M Maseyk) was unruly in the gates, reared up as the start was effected, dislodging the rider and finished the course riderless. In view of his behaviour, Tr. Javed Khan was informed to give his charge adequate gate practice before accepting with it again.

Tr. Patrick Quinn and Jockey Vijay Kumar were questioned regarding the running and riding of ch g FIRING POWER, placed 3rd by the Judge in the above race. The Trainer stated that :-
a) he instructed his jockey to sit in mid bunch.
b) To use the stick only “if necessary”
c) Do his best in the straight.

The jockey when questioned corroborated the instructions of the Trainer and informed that he had ridden to the best of his ability.

The Stipendiary stewards while not being fully satisfied with the explanation tendered by Tr. Patrick Quinn and Jockey Vijay Kumar, advised them that they must take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure that their horses are given full opportunity of obtaining the best possible placing.

Tr. E Bhungard and App Amandeep Singh were questioned regarding the running and riding of b g KNIGHTS EMPEROR, unplaced by the Judge in the above race, with particular reference to the start of the race. The Trainer stated that :-

a) he instructed the jockey to take a good start, sit in mid bunch and do his best in the straight.
b) He was of the opinion that the bad start of the horse could have been due to its having a soft mouth.

The apprentice when questioned, corroborated the instructions of the Trainer and further stated :-

a) the horses was unruly in the gates and jumped awkwardly affecting its start.
The Stipendiary Stewards after the repeated viewing of the CCTV replay in presence of both
the Trainer and the Apprentice decided to fine App Amandeep Singh a sum of Rs. 3,000/- for the unsatisfactory riding of his mount KNIGHTS EMPEROR in the above race in that as soon as the start was effected, the Apprentice did not give the horse the necessary rein to allow it to take a good start. He was further cautioned that a repetition of similar manner of riding would entail him being reported to the Stewards for appropriate action. Tr. E Bhungard was cautioned as to the future running of his charges.

4th RACE (12) THE ANNATTO HANDICAP (Div II) (About) 1200 Metres - A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-50, Rated 00-30 eligible – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (1.45/1.48) : 8 runners

SMILES (App B Srinivas Rao) was slow to begin.

CERTAIN SMILE (I Chisty) planted in the starting gates, losing many lengths and taking no practical part in the race. In view of its behaviour, Tr. D M David was informed not to accept with the filly till shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.

5th RACE (13) THE SHOLAY HANDICAP (About) 1100 Metres - A Handicap for Horses Rated 40-70, Rated 20-50 eligible (2.20/2.20) : 11 runners

PURSUIT OF POWER (Pawan Sharma) was slow to begin.

The Stipendiary Stewards reported App Pradeep Kumar, the rider of CANDLE LIGHT to the Stewards for careless riding under Rule 161(i) of the RCTC Rules of Racing in that, soon after jumping out of the gates, he allowed his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of SPLENDID ELEGANCE (I Chisty) which had to be severely checked by its jockey and further was carried inwards across the running of CHARULATA (S Domingo). The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race. Having considered the evidence tendered by App Pradeep Kumar and his master Mr. Bharath Singh, , viewing the replay of the race on the CCTV, acting on their own observations of the race and taking into account his record, the Stewards resolved to suspend App Pradeep Kumar from riding in races from 21st January, 2009 to 11th February, 2009 (both days inclusive) for careless riding under Rule 161 (i). The apprentice was, however, permitted to ride work. Tr. Bharath Singh was also informed to be prudent with regard to his choice of jockeys in future.

The Sr. Veterinary Officer reported that CANDLE LIGHT (App Pradeep Kumar) returned with bleeding cut injury on her right hind.

6th RACE (14) THE REAL DANGER CUP (About) 1200 Metres - A Handicap for Horses Rated 40 - 70, Rated 20 – 50 eligible (2.55/2.58) : 10 runners

GRAND MADAME (I Chisty) was difficult to load.

PROSPECTIVE QUEEN (Afzal Khan) was slow to begin. Tr. H S Bath has been advised to give his charge adequate gate practice before accepting with it again.

ONE MAN ARMY (S Paswan) bolted out of the starting gates. The gelding was caught and re-loaded.

ONE MAN ARMY (S Paswan) ran detached from the field. The gelding was examined by the Sr. Veterinary Officer after the race and no ailment was noted. However, Tr. Vikash Jaiswal has been advised not to accept with his charge till capable of a better performance.

7th RACE (15) THE YEREVAN CUP (About) 1100 Metres - A Handicap for Horses Rated 60 - 90, Rated 40 – 70 eligible (3.30/3.32) : 14 runners

SEA LEGEND (M Maseyk), ANDROLOGY (V Jaiswal) and SOLID SUCCESS (Haroon Khan) were difficult to load thereby delaying the start of the race by two minutes.

8th RACE (16) THE GOLDEN CAN HANDICAP (About) 1100 Metres - A Handicap for Horses Rated 20 - 50, Rated 00 – 30 eligible (4.05/4.10) : 15 runners

Consequent to App Arman Khan being declared medically unfit to ride, Tr. D M David was permitted to substitute App Pradeep Kumar to ride his charge HIGH REGARD.

TIME WARNER (M Maseyk) planted, took no practical part in the race. The Starting Stall Certificate of TIME WARNER has been revoked by the Starter.

ARRAYAL (Brij Shaw) and HIGH REGARD (App Pradeep Kumar) were difficult to load thereby delaying the start of the race by two minutes.

Tr. H S Bath and Jockey Afzal Khan were questioned regarding the running and riding of ch f THE RED ROSE in the above race. The Trainer stated that he had instructed the Jockey to :-

a) to take the filly on start to finish mission,
b) he was disappointed that the Jockey had taken an unduly long lead,
c) on his questioning the Jockey soon after the race, he was informed that that horse was running too freely inspite of the efforts to bring it under control.

The Jockey when questioned corroborated the instructions and statement of the Trainer.

The Stipendiary Stewards took no further action other than noting the incident.

Jockey V Aharwal, the rider of ITALIAN BEAUTY, was severely reprimanded in the presence of Tr. J J Stephens for the indifferent handling of his mount in the final stages of the race. He was further informed that a repetition of similar fashion of riding would entail him to disciplinary action.

due to the equine disease or influenza which had spread all around the county(in the process harming the entire industry,the turf clubs,breeders,jockeys,trainers specially the PUNTERS denying a lot of people of their livelyhood)jockeys were not allowed to ride in one centre on a saturday and another centre on sunday.now the ban on this has been lifted b y the hydrabad race club and from hyderabad derby day jockeys will b permitted to come in and ride in hydrabad
looking at the delhi results punters once again were at the recieving end as the first four races outsiders dominated and when the punters were left with NO SPIRIT,NO ENERGY AND MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL NO MONEY THE last two race the favorits obliged.well taking the whole loaf of bread and parting with only one slice is what he bookmakers did and the poor punter had to b happy with that.

todays races have produced results which should b taken with a pinch of salt
same owners in the first race made the difference between the two vijays,had they fancied the famme instead of the sidhath the result would have been reversed,anyways onwers dont buy horses for the public,its their investment and there wish.once the card is published they become public horses,fancied or not depend on the connections
how often have you heard a commentator announcing that the first favorite is in season,its as though the bookmakers did not know about it before the annoucment,the price drifted to a little more than DOUBLE the opening price from 80 paise to 18/10.and after the annoucment made by the racing commentator that the filly was on heat all expected the filly to b withdrawn,but theres no rule in racing that its a must to withdraw it,anyways it was the bookmakers who bled after the race as coopertina won in style,the third race was a straight figth between the two market fancies and the duly finshed 1-2 canopus tried to steal a march but was outwitted in the straight
come the fourth race and the bookmakes magic wand started having an effect on the punters
what was astonishing was a certain bookmaker in the bangalore ring opened the price of only one horse in the 4th race and that was of CHAMP FOREVER and did not refuse a single shout from 13/01 to 26/10 he let the money flow into his bag,smart cookie or third eye maybe even sixth sense well connectons do matter and the horse finished a accecptable third,he will b a different proposition next time mark my words not that the winner khaleels pride did anything wrong but there r a lot of ifs and buts in racing well all i can say the bookie had the ace up his sleeve.
fifth race saw another type of bleeding the fav. amstel bled from both the nostrils and so did the punters,the winner navija paid over a 100 times for a tenner in the bangalore tote and even higher at the parent centre hydrabad,the bookmakers smiled again prohibition i felt was unluky to lose as nitin kept the horse a long too way behind come the sixth race and there was a mixed trend on the fav carte blache, again a lot of good money went down the drain the bookmakers grinning again and the punters were licking their wounds.i pesonally feel carte blance is an over estimated horse and should b left alone for sometime abhinay rode a good race to steal the verdict in the last 40 metres from rudolph valentino,king size ran on to save place money AND THE FAVORITE LEFT THE PUNTERS WITH NO MONEY. last time failed favorite(remember it ran on money) birdie today supported a seperate pair of wings(the winning ones) he flew in the last 100 meters and discoloured COLOURFUL .

1st Race: 90. The Subash Nagar Plate-(About) 1600 Metres. 11 Runners Horses rated 00 to 25. TRACK WONDER was examined at 4.00 a.m. and found to be suffering from colic. Hence permission was granted to trainer Mr. Warren Singh to withdraw TRACK WONDER on veterinary grounds. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. Jockey Mohammed Shoaib, the rider of ANGEL FIELD reported that his mount was galloping in snatches throughout the race. Trainer Mr. Mahmood Khan was informed to get it checked by his Veterinar- ian and take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again. Jockey T. Rahul, the rider of QUIET ACHIEVER, reported that his mount was running erratically in the last 200 Metres. Jockey Shobhan Babu, the rider of PRETTY N FAST reported that his mount was hanging `in' badly in the straight. On questioning, trainer Mr. Warren Singh stated that he had instructed the rider to go to the front, keep it along the rails as the filly was blind in the right eye and to do his best thereafter. The expla- nation of the trainer was noted for future reference. ANGEL FIELD (Mohammed Shoaib) was examined after the race and found to have sharp molars on both the jaws on either side. QUIET ACHIEVER (T. Rahul) sustained an injury on right hind fetlock. Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from ch g PRINCE NORBERT.


2nd Race: 91. The Somawarpet Plate - (About) 1400 Metres. 10 Runners Horses rated 20 to 45. MIND ME (S.A. DeSousa) played up in the gates and sat down with the hind gate crushing the saddle and back for a significant period of time. Under the circumstances the horse was withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under Starter's orders. Trainer Mr. Darius Byramji was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. AFFIRMED CROWN (B. Prakash) jumped awkwardly outwards and incon- venienced SILKEN THOMAS (C.D. Hayes) on its outside. Jockey Md. Shafiq, the rider of CASPIAN SEA, was reprimanded for inconveniencing SILKEN THOMAS (C.D. Hayes) which in turn passed it on to AFFIRMED CROWN (B. Prakash) soon after the start. Jockey C.Ruzaan, the rider of SO MUCH MORE, was fined Rs.500/- for using wrong coloured cap. Jockey C.D. Hayes, the rider of SILKEN THOMAS, was reprimanded for repeatedly looking back in the straight. Trainer Mr. S. Narredu was questioned regarding the poor perfor- mance of his charge SOLITARY CHAMP (S. Chandrashekar) as compared to its last run in Race No.31 during the meeting where it had won the race. The trainer stated that (a) the distance in this race might have been too much for the horse; (b) the horse had won last time in a poor company in lower category; and (c) the horse showed lameness the day subsequent to the race day. His explana- tions were noted for future reference. SUN DEVICE (K.P.G. Appu) sustained gum injury. Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b c SILKEN THOMAS.


3rd Race: 92. The Summer Dust Plate - (About) 1200 Metres. 11 Runners Horses rated 20 to 45. DIFFERENT OPINION (K. Chethana) jumped awkwardly inwards and inconvenienced CUTE STYLE (Afsar Khan) on its inside. Jockey Md. Shafiq, the rider of UNIQUE STAR, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting `in' and causing interference to REIGNING MONARCH (Vinod Shinde) which in turn passed it on to EXPRESS IT (S. John) and FLY FOR SURE (Shanth Kumar) on his inside. Jockey A. Ashok Kumar, the rider of CLOUSEAU reported that he could not get a clear run approaching the 450 Metres due to crowding of the field. Jockey A. Ashok Kumar, the rider of CLOUSEAU, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting `in' and causing interference to WIN PRETTYBABY (David Allan) on its inside approaching the 300 Me- tres. Jockey Md. UNIQUE STAR (Md. Shafiq) sustained a deep cut injury on right hind inner bulb of heel. UNIQUE STAR (Md. Shafiq) sustained an injury on right hind can- non. Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner CUTE STYLE.


4th Race: 93. The Kehlan Stud Plate-Div.I-(About) 1400 Metres 10 Runners Horses rated 60 to 85, 5, 6 and 7 years at the time of starting. Jockey S. Selvaraj, the rider of CANNAVARO, was fined Rs.5,000/- for feeble handling of his mount during the race. He was further informed that a repetition of similar manner of riding would entail him being reported to the Stewards for severe action. Trainer Mr. V. Narayana Gowda was questioned regarding the poor performance of his charge SYMBOL OF SPEED (G. Adarsh). The train- er stated that (a) after its previous run at Mysore his charge developed slight tendon problem; (b) therefore it was under light work; (c) this was its first run after a long gap; and (d) he expects it to improve after this run. His explanations were noted for future reference. SUPER WOMAN (S. Mallikarjun) sustained an injury on right hock.


5th Race: 94. The Kelachandra New Millennium Cup - (About) 8 Runners 1400 Metres. Indian Horses 4 years old and over at the time of starting (Terms). Trainer Mr. M.P. Mahaesh was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the declaration of weight in respect of his charge SPLENDID SURPRISE. Trainer Mr. S. Padmanabhan was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the declaration of weight in respect of his charge RHAPSIDION SNOW. Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the declaration of weight in respect of his charge SOBERANO. SOBERANO (Vinod Shinde) was examined at 10.10 a.m. and found to be trotting lame on left fore due to foot abscess and was permit- ted to be withdrawn. Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. Trainer Mr. V. Lokanath was questioned regarding the poor perfor- mance of his charge WOMAN ON TOP (C. Ruzaan). The trainer stated that he got his charge examined after the race day and found to have congestion in its lungs and further added that probably it could be the reason for its poor performance. While noting the explanation of the trainer, he was advised to desist from running his charge till he is confident of the horse performing up to its racing capability. BOURBON KING (B. Prakash) sustained an injury on right hind fetlock.


6th Race: 95. The Dr.S.K.Pillay Memorial Plate-Div.I-(About) 12 Runners 1200 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65. Jockey Khurshad Alam, the rider of LITTLE SPLENDOUR, was fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting `in' and causing interference to CALMING INFLUENCE (Saleem Golam) on his inside approaching 250 Metres. The Cross Nose Ban used on POWER TO FIGHT (Md. Shafiq) was ob- served to have been tied too low and trainer Mr. R.V. Manohar was advised to consult the Club's Veterinary Officer with regard to the proper usage of the equipment. REPIQUE (K.P.G. Appu) sustained a cut injury on right hind ten- don. POWER TO FIGHT (Md. Shafiq) sustained an injury on right hock.


7th Race: 96. The Kehlan Stud Plate-Div.II-(About)1400 Metres 10 Runners Horses rated 60 to 85, 5, 6 and 7 years at the time of starting. BLINK (S.A. DeSousa) was slowly away and lost about 2 lengths. Thereafter it was lethargic and slow into stride thereby losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer Mr.M.Eshwer was ques- tioned regarding (a) his riding instructions; and (b) the be- haviour of the horse at the start. He stated that (a) he had instructed the rider to maintain a forward position and ride out in the straight; (b) the horse was slowly away for the first time in its career and it could be probably due to the sheep skin cheek piece which was used for the first time on his charge. His explanations were noted for future reference. EL GORDO (S. Chandrashekar) reported that he was inconvenienced soon after jumping out due to the crowding of the field. STRONG MINDED (G.Y. Rajesh Babu) sustained injuries on left hock and a bleeding injury on left hind coronet. MILAGRO (M. Narredu) sustained an injury on right hind fetlock.


8th Race: 97. The Dr.S.K.Pillay Memorial Plate-Div.II-(About) 12 Runners 1200 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65. IMPERIAL APPLAUSE (Shobhan Babu) planted and lost many lengths at the start. In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. V. Narayana Gowda (deputising for trainer Mr. V. Lokanath) was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track. GRIS RAPIDE (A. Ashok Kumar) jumped awkwardly inwards. TAKE MY WORD (K.P.G. Appu) accidentally brushed the false rails approaching the 700 Metres. Jockey A.
